Previous White House helper Steve Bannon "lost his psyche" after he lost his activity at the White House, US President Donald Trump has said.

The president repudiated Mr Bannon after he was cited in another book portraying a gathering between Mr Trump's child and a gathering of Russians as "treasonous".

The Russians had offered Donald Trump Jr harming data on Hillary Clinton at the June 2016 gathering.

Mr Bannon's statement shows up in another book by writer Michael Wolff.

"Steve Bannon has nothing to do with me or my administration. When he was let go, he not just lost his activity, he lost his brain," Mr Trump said in an announcement on Wednesday.

"Steve was a staff member who worked for me after I had effectively won the designation by overcoming seventeen applicants, frequently portrayed as the most gifted field at any point amassed in the Republican party," he proceeded.

"Since he is individually, Steve is discovering that triumphant isn't as simple as I influence it to look. Steve had next to no to do with our notable triumph, which was conveyed by the overlooked men and ladies of this nation."

Mr Bannon, the president's previous boss strategist, was viewed as a key player in the Trump White House and helped shape Mr Trump's "America First" battle message before he exited his post in August.

The president's remarks came hours after the dangerous new book, Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House, uncovered that Mr Bannon assembled Mr Trump Jr's conference "treasonous" and "unpatriotic".

Addressing the creator, Mr Wolff, Mr Bannon said of the examination concerning whether there was any agreement amongst Russia and the Trump battle: "They will split Don Junior like an egg on national TV."
