Showing off my new Banners!

in #banners7 years ago (edited)

Hey everyone!

Last week I wrote an AskSteemit post asking what your thoughts were on referral links added to your posts as a footer/banners. The general view on most users was that as long as it sticks to your own posts and its not directing readers to shady/scammy sites it should be okay. Many of these sites offer bonuses and advantages to both the referrer and the person getting referred.

Some might see it as ads but I believe its not something we can stop from happening either way in the long run. The one thing we have to be careful about is the reputation of the author and what he is linking to. As most of you know I'm not the one to ask for followers/votes and try to profit off of his readers so I decided to create some banners with referral links under them to sites and services I trust and use myself. As I also daily catch up on news I will make sure to remove some if anything were to happen, but the ones I started out with have proven to run legitimately for longer periods of time.

I started with these three, Localbitcoins which has been running for many years allowing users to trade bitcoin locally, Genesismining which is one of the few legitimate and longlasting cloudmining websites and Binance which is a rather new trading platform but regulated under Chinese laws.

Thank you to @howtostartablog for commissioning these awesome banners!

seems a good banner!

I've seen banners on some users sites for a while now, and while I agree with you that they will probably grow in use, I'm not a fan of the external sites' banners.

These I'm ok with because they are custom and don't look so much like an advert.

It's a bit like posting deposit addresses, they are there but the reader chooses to deposit/click or not.

Yeah it was a bit of an ethical decision and I thought that having custom ones would be a lot better than the original ones that look like ads.

and yeah.. the coin addresses just listed on users posts look so bad it makes me not want to vote on the content often, lol. They could at least put them in links.

Yeah Re: coin addresses, does anyone actually send crypto to those?!

They look good and personally I have no problem with people using Steemit to get referrals, I hope you get some success!

I am all in favour of them but they seem to be frowned upon by elitists on Steemit. As long as they are markerd as Advertisement I don't see the harm.

I’ve always wanted a banner thinking it attracts more people and makes your page look even better !! How did you create these ?

Ask someone who would like to help out with it. ^^

You can go to @justcallmemyth's old posts from June and July I think. He has made a bunch of free banners and graphics for anyone to use. He hasnt been on much....but said he is coming back....so he would maybe make one for you. Maybe offer 1 or 2 sbd??

If you have a bad case of biaseditis you should get that checked by a doctor! XD

Without the spacing I did it with photoshop but for me it looks better with the spacing.

Not bad but I feel they should be lighter colored. The best part would be that their transparency matches both the light and dark theme of steemit.

And please! We want a customizable footer that we can save in our profile!! I know you have contacts to make this happen :p
