Historical Kantaji Temple | Kantaji Temple
There are many ancient scripts scattered in different places of Bangladesh. Older traditions are found in North Bengal in Bangladesh. An ancient archaeological site of Kantaji, in the district of Dinajpur, is in the north. There are various local and foreign people coming here to travel. The temple is written in ancient Kahini Ramayana, Mahabharata.
Kantaji Temple situated on the banks of the Dwapa River, 20km north of Dinajpur city on the west of Dinajpur-Tentulia highway. The ancient temple is known as Kantaji Temple or Kantaji Mandir or Kantanagara Mandi. It is also known as the Nabaratna Temple because there were nine stories or gems of this temple in the three-story house.
From the inscriptions of the based on the northern side of the temple, it is known that at that time Maharana Zamindar Prannath Roy of Dinajpur started the construction of the temple at his last. After his death in 1722, after his death, his adopted son Maharaja Ramnath Roy completed the construction of the temple in 1752 AD. Initially, the height of the temple peak was 70 ft. When the temple collapsed in 1897, its pebbles were broken. Though the Maharaja Girijanath temple was renovated, the temples of the temple were not reformed yet
The terracotta plaques on the outer walls of the temple are written in the Ramayana, the Mahabharata, and various KM myths. There are about 15,000 terracotta tiles in the entire temple. The temple has risen three steps above. Inside the temple, all the arches around the temple are seen. Although the temple premises rectangular, the temple of the height of 50 feet height standing on the foundation of the stone is square. All the gateways in the lower ground have many grooved arches. The bridges are separated by two brick pillars, the pillars are two very beautiful and rich ornaments. From the second verandah on the west side of the temple, the staircases went upstairs. There are 21 gates in the lower ground and 27 in the second floor, but on the third floor, there are only three.

apart from tourism value these places have archaeological value .so govt should take care of these heritages on top priority basis.
The government took some steps to preserve it. But, they are not only effective in paper but in reality they are not effective.
