Bangkok - King Rama IX Park and Botanical Garden
We directly decided to hop on one of the swan-pedalboats to enjoy the view and sun!
The park was created in 1987 for King Bhumibol Adulyadej's (Rama IX.) 60th birthday.
Entrance fee is only 10THB!
As part of the country's annual flower show it features a large number of indigenous plants.
There is also an exhibition of works by the Thai king and an overview of his life and work, inside the futuristic looking building.

The Rommaniya garden. This garden area shows about 50 Rai, so 7 hectares, the natural beauties of Thailand. The terrain has been shaped to reflect the country's typical streams, waterfalls, forests and mountains. For example, a typical rainforest is shown, which has numerous species and rock types in the country.
And there is the beautiful water garden. The water garden covers an area of nearly 6 hectares, and is home to numerous species of fish and seabirds. Various species of aquatic plants thrive in the shallow channels and the less wooded area, which have been attractively built here.
The cactus geenhouse is built like a bubble. And therefore intensly hot!
Beautiful, beautiful orchid....
As a nature-addict, places like this are an haven in the middle of the hurlyburly in Bankok city.
