Bananafish in Slavic antithesis
This is my entry to @bananafish A Story & Poetry contest.
Yellow Crowd
What's that yellowing high in the sky?
Is that a cloud full of Sahara sands,
or a giant slobber invades us from the outer space?
Not sand that flies so high,
nor a slobber that invades.
It's a crowd of bananas that flaps its fins and flies.
Bananas with fins?
Are they bananas or fishes they are?
Thing is so strangely.
Well, bananafishes they are actually.
No one knows from where they come.
They come from here,
they come from there,
they come from everywhere.
From the outer space,
from the Earth's surface.
From the seas and oceans,
from other dimensions.
They are serious.
They are scary.
They are funny.
They are mysterious.
All at the same time.
They make you scaring.
They make you laughing.
They make you thinking.
All to power up your mind.

A cloud of bananafish flapping through the sky! Ahaha what an image!! And you capture so much of the juxtaposition of our membership here, the serious, the scary, the funny. And our mixed membership, you don't even have to be from this planet to roll with the bananafish tribe!
A poem misleading in it's simplicity, hiding depths below the surface, rather like us ;) thank you very much! A very entertaining entry!

Wonderful poem! It captures the undefinable bananafish - who come from everywhere and are made up of so many components. A creature of wonder that holds the tribe together through thick and thin, with a place for everyone.
