The construction workers killed in the horrible Baltimore bridge collapse were all immigrants from Latin America. This is a terrible tragedy regardless of the identity of the dead.

But that identity is a reminder of the crucial role of recent immigrants in our construction industry. Politicians from both parties say we need to build more housing and infrastructure. Opening doors to more immigrant workers can be a big help in doing that.
