Ubud, Bali 2017
So after having spent 26 hours in Bali at my first visit some months earlier I knew I had to come back. So I found some 5 days to spend on this beautiful island. Ubud, a city in the mountainous center of the only hindu-dominated island of Indonesia, has fascinated visitors ever since. Today a vibrant startup scene and yoga clubs are building up between temples and monkey forests, accompanied by the mystical sounds of gamelan music.
The complete image series of the trip:
Nias / Ubud / Tokyo / Kyoto / Kobe / Osaka / Busan / Harbin / Harbin Ice Festival / Russia
Nicely crafted statues everywhere. Godesses and demons, overgrown with moss and flowers.
The smell of incense sticks in the air.
Noisy markets, motorbikes rushing by.
A place where time is valued differently.
Bali has always been a thriving place. The ideal climate ever since granted bontiful crop for its inhabitants, who spent their time with creating art and temples.
There are temples in every e/state. As in hindu Bali, god is within everything.
On a short walk in the morning.
