Humans basically want to live in peace. Peace will be achieved if humans are able to live side by side and harmonious with fellow beings on this earth. For that human beings try in every way so that peace is created and well preserved, thus raising the figures who oppose violence on earth such as Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Sukarno, and other figures in the world.To commemorate the merits of the "hunters" of peace (nonviolence) and the peace they strive to maintain, the World Peace Gong is created. With the World Peace Gong, it is hoped to be able to make people aware that peace and togetherness is very important without differentiating race, ethnicity, nation, ideology, or other dividing barriers.

The World Peace Gong was created in late 2002 by Djuyoto Suntani as president of the world peace committee, Gde Sumarjaya Linggih as a member of the House of Representatives, and several other national figures such as Esy Darmadi, Lius Sungkhisma, and others. The World Peace Gong was played for the first time by President Megawati Soekarnoputri and Vice President of Indonesia Hamzah Haz at 00.00 WITA on December 31, 2002 in Bali.

If we take a closer look at this World Peace Gong, then there will be many symbols and each symbol has its own meaning. Right in the middle of the gong circle is a map of the surface of the earth, it means that peace must take place on this earth. The second circle is the symbol of the 10 great religions of the world. The third circle contains English-language "World Peace Gong" and Indonesian language "Gong Perdamaian Dunia". Between English and Indonesian, there is a flower as a separator. Picture of flowers is a symbol of beauty, happiness and peace. In the outer circle there are 202 flags from 202 countries. Peace Gong Duna is the largest peace gong in the world with 5 meters diameter gong made of five metal elements, namely Gold, Silver, Bronze, Iron, and Tin. These five metal elements are known as Panca Datu which symbolizes five continents.

Now the gong is placed in the Shanti Buana Park and becomes a monument called the World Peace Gong Monument. In this monument there are also statues of world leaders who have contributed to the struggle for world peace, such as Soekarno, Mikhail Gorbachev, Willy Brandt, Mother Teresa of Calcutta, Marti Ahtisaari, Kofi Annan, and Barrack Obama. Shanti Buana Park is located in the middle of the Cultural Village Kertalangu. Not far from this monument there are wide and green rice fields. Here there is also a jogging track area that reaches 4 km long through the rice fields. Many tourists who come to visit this monument while enjoying the natural atmosphere of this village with family and friends. This place is now an interesting place and worth visiting if you are on holiday to the island of Bali.

Tourist attractions Peace Monument World is located at Jalan By Pass Ngurah Rai 88X, Kertalangu Village, Kesiman, Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia. From the center of Denpasar City is only 9 km and from Ngurah Rai Airport is only 21.4 km or with a travel time of 34 minutes by motor vehicle. The nearest travel route that you can go through as follows. From Ngurah Rai Airport direct your vehicle to Bali Mandara Toll road then to Jalan By Pass Ngurah Rai east to Titi Banda statue. From this statue the road you pass is a one-lane road, therefore about 1 km from this statue to the north then turn the direction. Approximately 170 m from the U turn sign, will find the sign of "Kertalangu Cultural Village", by turning left and entering the road you have reached the World Peace Gong Monument.
