Baking Fancy Brownies: Made Easy!
A friend of mine is getting married this month and has asked me to do the desserts. I'm so stoked for this, its a small outdoor wedding on the beach. So we're doing cookies and brownies.
For the brownies, I want them to be thick and chewy with some chocolate ganache on top. It sounds and looks like a lot of work, but I swear it's not! Here's what you do:
Get a box of brownie mix and prepare according to the box for cake style brownies, or omit one egg for a more fudgy chewy brownie. ( this is what I did)
Let the brownies cool completely and then make your ganache.
Ganache is one of those things that sounds, looks and tastes so fancy that people are sometimes scared to attempt it. But it's only TWO ingredients!
You need 1 1/3 cup chocolate chips and 1 cup of heavy cream.
1.Heat the cream in a saucepan. ( make sure you have a lid for the pan you're using)
- Once the cream has heated through and is beginning to bubble, remove from heat and dump your chocolate chips in. Swirl the pan a bit to make sure all the chips are covered and then put the lid on it.
- Set your timer for 5 minutes and wait.
- Remove the lid and whisk the chocolate and cream together until it all melts and mixes together. You'll know it's done when it begins to thicken a little and it'll start to get all shiny and pretty. 😍
- Pour over your brownies and chill in the fridge for a few hours.
That's it! Delectable fudgy chocolatey brownies are that easy! Enjoy!

Yummy. Might have to print this one out and hand it to my wife with a big grin... chocolate usually wins. @ironshield
Your way of making ganache sounds really yummy! I’ve made it before but I used cocoa powder, sugar, milk, butter and vanilla extract instead. I can imagine that your way taste so much richer using the chocolate chips. I’m going to try it this way next time and see which way works better for me. Thanks for sharing and those brownies look so Yum!! 😋
Sounds delicious 😋
Chocolate ganache is on my list of things to try now.
Wow! Looks yummy! Thank you @khackett for sharing this awesome recipe. I bet your friend's wedding would be extra special with these chocolate brownies.
The mon of a neighbor put beetroot in the brownies, she said that the flavor was highlighted, I don't know if it would be true, but I love beets, anyway fudgy chocolate brownies just reading it makes me hungry.
I have heard that about beet root. I've yet to try it because I don't really eat beets, but that's an excellent tip! 😍
Yum! Those look mighty delicious! Thanks for the recipe. Now to see if I can find some heavy cream at a decent price. For some reason ALL dairy here (surrounded by DAIRY farms) is extremely expensive. Cheese, cream, milk...It's all crazy expensive. These look amazing and something I need to try so I can impress my friends. Awesome that you're making them for your friend's wedding. That's so nice!! YUM!!
A tip, if you run out of milk you can use evaporated milk. I've tried it and it worked! Thank God too lol. How exciting is that to bake for a wedding! WOOOHOO! I have a 3 tiered cake to make this summer for 100 people. I hope I do not disappoint. That can be scary. Have fun baking! It is a great thing to do ^_^
😍😍😍 sister cake makes my stomach hungry, look .. it must be very delicious ..
Your friend must be very grateful to you
O: I had no idea that's you make ganache. Nice!
I make brownies from the recipe in the Fannie Farmer cookbook from like the 1920s. 😁
