Hey Guys, is it really that hard to get a Visa for Russia? Many people are saying it is pretty complicated to get a Visa for Russia! Ok I have been already three times to Russia. It is not that easy, let`s say you have to fight a bit ... But it is not impossible and if you know what you have to do you will get no Problems to have your Visa for Russia in your pocket :)

First at all what should we do?

()
Step One: Don`t do it alone to avoid mistakes, have a person that is working in an agency and speaking Russian.

I bought my Visa through a Russian agency, here are the tools that I had to bring her:

  • My document from my boss from work, they want to know how high your salary is (I did not understand why but Russian embassy need it)
  • Passport
  • Money for Visa (90 Euro)
  • Tourist Visa Invitation from Russia (you can get it from your Hotel where you booked your room, or if you have friends or family
there, they can also invite you, but it is much easier to book just a hotel for one night and you will get this invitation), book this
hotel before you are flying to russia, cause some Russian hotels are not allowed to host tourists (I don`t know why)
  • biometric photo of you
  • You have to tell them which cities you want to visit and when

I know it sounds quiet a lot but it isn t :) Or it is :P but if you have done it a few times you will get used to it :P

Important: Please register yourself at a police station in Russia within 11 days, I never did it, I was pretty lazy to go while backpacking to a police station. Nothing was happen, but if you want to be sure to get no problems, please do it.

After 3 weeks I was able to hold my Visa in my hands :) yepppiiii

You can do it also online but I would be afraid to make mistakes, cause Russians are very strict they will not let you into their country, if there ist just one mistake, game over you can drive home. It is not possible to get a Russian Visa in Russia.

I hope it was helpful! Big Hug Lena

Sort:

Not so difficult for Europeans to obtain visa, just annyoying and complicated if you want to stay longer.

yeah very annoying if you want to stay longer than 30 days , I know --__--

Let's hope in the future there will be visa free travel :)

:D of course we hope, :)))))

I don't think it's that easy for we Africans!!!!!

yes for some countries it is more hard to get in --_--- but it is not impossible , greetings Lena

If I ever plan on going to Russia, I will be sure to refer to this great info.
Thanks ~ excellent post!!

Thank you very much, or just write me if you need something to translate, cause I speak also russian, greetings Lena

It all depends in the world which country your coming from Lena?? For the Japanese for example it's fairly easy, but for Egyptians it's impossible! The Egyptian passport is the WORST in the whole world! You need a visa to go EVERYWHERE!!

yes I agree, some countries it is almost impossible ---_-----

The UK passport for me is probably one of the worlds best. Lucky man!

yes we can be lucky with that , I agree :)

If you don't live near a visa center in the US, you could ask a friend or relative who lives near one to do it for you, but it's a lot of effort to save on the mail-in fee.

By the way, if you already have a ticket to the World Cup, you can enter Russia for free with your Fan ID during the period of the event.
