Early 1900's
- Rubber pants was invented, but was only used when really necessary (far trips, protecting fancy clothes) due to the fact that was not breathable and caused extreme rash and chafing.
- Hygiene was also great factor now.
- Babies were changed frequently.
- Diapers were sanitized by boiling them before reusing
- During WW2 many women used flour sacks as diapers due to poverty.
- Also during WW2 "diaper services" got popular, because many mothers had to work to help support their families. Freshly cotton nappies were delivered on a as-needed basis.
- Hand knit Wool soakers also became popular around this time.
