The Wisdom of Time

in #babalon8 years ago (edited)

The first of the Ten Great Wisdoms is that of Time.
Time is something that we never have enough of to go around. Time is where we exist in the here and now. It has a definite beginning and end. The older you get, the more you realize how little Time is allocated to your life.
Time exists in three forms: Past, Present and Future. It is a relative experience as the Past was once the Future and someday the Future will be long Past. Time is a continuous river where we drift toward a destination unknown.
This is why change is always good. Time will constantly change and no one can know the direction. People spend vast amounts of money and use up their Time allotments to discover the course of change, only to discover their learning and resources have less use than the toss of a dice. It is foolish to resist change or assume you know its direction.
Time proceeds out of the Supreme Reality that cannot be defined. Babalon is a force of creation and power in the universe. As Time is endless, so is Her love and Desire.
In the Hindu traditions, where the concept of Ten Wisdoms originates, Time is represented by Kali who dances in the burning cremation grounds. She is the Dark Mother, the devourer of Time.
The universe is one gigantic cremation ground, where death prowls and consumes all that we build in this life. When our Time ceases, death arrives to take it back from us. It is the fear of death that makes us human. To understand Time, you must face death.
Time is first among the Ten Great Wisdoms. It cannot be escaped from or controlled.
