There are several oaks and other kinds that are around us as well, but the squirrels always get to the acorns before I can it seems, which makes harvesting them for myself a little more difficult XD

There are so many acorns from the trees here that the squirrels can't eat them all! Do you use them for craft projects, or for food? I've hear that if one soaks them in water to remove the bitter tannins, they can be pounded into a flour for cooking. But I haven't tried it.

I've heard this as well, but never done it myself either. They're great for craft projects though, or as I am a practicing witch they're great for witchcraft too :)
