NYC Sunny Cool Dry Stretch Ahead

Good morning everyone. For those who stayed up to see what it was like when that final push of rain came through, it unfolded pretty much how I envisioned it. A strong gust front moved ahead of the main line of heavy thunderstorms, giving us a pretty sizable push of wind before the main line of heavy rain arrived.

Now it's all gone and we'll finally see that glowing orb in the sky once again. It won't do much to warm the air, but it'll be nice to see the sun regardless. Cool air will stick around for several days before modifying, then we may see another cool to cold shot next weekend.

Look for sunny skies to dominate for the next 4 days, with winds being the only difference day to day. For today, low 50's and windy conditions will be on the menu. Things will slowly start to subside come mid-afternoon, then we drop into the upper 30's to near 40 overnight.

Areas away from NYC will have temps go deeper into the 30's, and we may see some 20's dot areas N&W of NYC.

REGIONAL RADAR

Our weekend is looking nice, but cool. Low 50's remain in place, with sunny skies and light winds Saturday. 30's to near 40 lock in overnight, and the same story away from NYC with colder temps.

Winds will increase a bit on Sunday, but nothing major. Look for steady westerlies to develop as high pressure inches closer, and that'll help keep us in the low 50's.

LOCAL RADAR NEW YORK CITY

Sunny skies still dominate on Monday, winds will relax again, and maybe a touch "warmer" with highs in the low to mid 50's. Lows at night will be the sign our cool airmass is drifting away as we dip into the 40's overnight.

Clouds will begin to mix in with the sunshine Tuesday onward, but we'll be recovering back into the low 60's ahead of our next system.

Our next system may pass by with little fanfare late next week, but cold air is poised to try and sink in for a quick visit. This may be the one that gives us our first widespread frost overnight, but let's hold off for now and see how much cold air is available.
MANY THANKS TO TROPICAL TIDBITS FOR THE USE OF MAPS
