DEPARTING SURPRISE SNOWSTORM CLEARS THANKSGIVING DAY PATH
DEPARTING SURPRISE SNOWSTORM CLEARS THANKSGIVING DAY PATH
Sometimes you eat the bear, sometimes the bear eats you. I’ve been eating bear so long, an entire family planned their revenge, stalked me, ate me bones and all, then decorated their living room with my illustrious hair.
Luckily nobody predicted yesterday’s outcome, not one line soul; and that’s the way the cookie crumbles sometimes when predicting the departure of cold air as a storm slams into it early-season.
While areas were paralyzed due to poorly treated/untreated roads because nobody was ready, there is some good news. This system has basically taken all of the energy with it and will give us a calm period; clearing the path for my hail-mary sunny but cool Thanksgiving Day. Redemption of some sorts if I’m redeemable at all.
EASTERN SATELLITE
Today looks cloudy and raw for the first part, with cold rain and drizzle about. We’ll have clearing as the day goes on, but winds will be whipping at a good clip. Expect a gusty WNW wind 15-20 with gusts near 40.
Winds will calm down overnight and tomorrow, giving us a cool but comfortable day compared to yesterday and today. Look for highs in the mid to upper 40’s.
Clouds roll in Sunday as a weak disturbance heads our way, highs in the low to mid 40’s. Overnight Sunday, we could see a few light showers in the NYC area, possibly some mixing away from the City. I promise there will be no surprises this time.
Next week starts of cloudy and cool as that disturbance passes by. Sun breaks out by Tuesday, but below normal temps continue to grip the area. Expect low to mid 40’s to reign, but at least it’ll be dry.
Dry, sunny, and cool weather wants to stretch into Thanksgiving Day, giving me 1 correct forecast this week and we start with a clean slate.
