Thor Announces a Revolution in Transport

The transport sector has never experienced such novelty as in the recent past. Interestingly, the new models represent previously unknown companies with some kind of technological history. Large “players” are hiding very well their prototypes and their development.

One such newcomer is also Thor company from Los Angeles, California, USA. The design of the tug is made according to the known system, as Tesla and Cummins already have . Aerodynamic design, a powerful electric motor between 220 and 514 kW (between 300 and 700 hp in our more well-known units) and a whole range of lithium-ion batteries, which allow autonomy to reach about 300 miles (482 km). They also announced a version with an extended range of up to 500 miles (800 km).

The traction power is enough to easily drive a total weight of 36 tons. At the same time, the final speed is limited to 70 miles per hour (113 km / h). Braking has an energy regeneration system, which we already know well. Filling should take place only 90 minutes from empty to full. This will only be possible if a sufficiently strong charging station is built, which is another problem. Below the line: the data is impressive.

The price ranges will range between 150,000 and 250,000 dollars depending on the equipment, power and the amount of batteries themselves.
