I agree with most of the points described in this post. Regardless of what party we vote for, we get the war party. Our two party system has resulted in us getting to choose between two mob families, neither of which have our best interest in mind. What i don't buy is that Trump is some type of autocrat. His administration is at war with the bureaucracy and it's largely restricted what he's able to do. An autocrat rarely has such problems to worry about. He's also not demonstrably different than our previous leaders. The main difference is he's rude and doesn't mind saying anything he's thinking. But really, what is so different? We are still bombing third world countries, we are still dramatically overspending which will lead to our ruin, and civil liberties continue to erode. The problem we have is that our government and especially has way to much power. If you drastically reduce the power of the government, than who is in charge becomes much less important.
