We're going back, way back, to the beginning
This was the first video we uploaded to the Planet Auto channel, it features a gallery of Michael's recently purchased 1973 Super Beetle, the car is currently being restored.
As you can see when the aircooled VW was purchased, Michael received a lot of spares including doors, wings, spoiler, new carpet set and various engine components.
The plan this year is to get the classic on the road, stay tuned to see the project unfold.
Engine plan?
The original engine was rebuilt a year before buying it, it's having a new loom fitted, and there is no immediate plans for engine tuning.
A classic, but it is strange that the worlds most hated car is also one of the best built, long lasting cars around (The Cooper S being also in the same class).
It certainly was however the classic Beetle has changed a lot of peoples minds in todays world, a true icon like the John Cooper Works original Mini.
