Transport in australia is broken

I'm currently (future Jen - Currently is one week and a day ago) sitting at the Sydney domestic terminal feeling increasingly frustrated by what should have been a fairly straightforward trip to Melbourne. Not only have 4 phases of the transport journey failed me, I've also had to spend money I don't really have on a company I don't really like (uber).

Phase 1) boarding the train.

I had work this morning. It was only 2 hours, but apparently 2 hours is enough time for the entirety of the shitty trains network to go down. I'd planned to catch the 2:02, which would get me to the airport around 3:30ish - 2 hours before my flight the 2:20 is running 40 mins late, but it's fine because so is the train before it. I didn't know this before I left my house (if I did I would have left 5 minutes earlier). despite running for the train I miss it by 20 seconds.

Sorry to hear that the transport in Australia is as bad as it seems to be in many other places.
I found you because @chekohler featured you in the Pay it Forward Curation Contest. Keep up the great work!

I think our Governments screwed us all up.

First they started collecting taxes in exchange for Public TV, Public Radios, Public Newspapers, Public Transport Systems, Public Education, Public Healthcare, etc...

For a while, this worked. But then politicians started getting increasingly greedy and corrupt and nowadays all these services were Privatised. Some of them are totally broken... and we are paying even more taxes than before.

This almost sounds like a giant worldwide scam.

Congratulations on being featured by @chekohler in an entry for the Pay It Forward Contest

Sounds like a bit of a troublesome journey but I'd still take it over travelling in a third world country. I'd take the broken transport system of Australia over the non-existent and dangerous transport system in South Africa any day lol. At least your outfit was on point lol

FYI i've also nominated your post as my @pifc post of the week. You can find my nomination post here. Feel free to join us each week in curating cool posts from new authors each week

Thankyou so much!

I do agree - significantly safer. The fact transport anywhere is unsafe really sucks :(
