The thousands of firefighter and voluntary personnel who have been burning since September have been brought some respite by Rain. Over the last week, fires intensified and several cities were evacuated.
There have been at least 24 murdered-3 of whom were volunteers firefighters-and over 6,3 million hectares of land, woodland, and parks (63,000 sq km or 15.6 million acres), respectively.
