What Is Suffering?

in #audio6 years ago (edited)

"Most people go to their graves believing suffering is unavoidable"

This is the opening line from this present reading of Jan Frazier in which she illuminates us to the possibility that suffering is not a prerequisite to living a life - a normal everyday life.

Yet this statement seems so utterly absurd to most of us, how sad that is- that we take suffering as an unavoidable characteristic of life.

I heartily recommend Jan's work to everybody, without exception. Her razor-like delivery cuts through many a clouded narrative and goes right to the heart of what it means to live a life of true freedom.

Jan's book The Freedom of Being was written so that we could "open to the possibility of a life shot-through with joy"

Learning to laugh at our seriousness, learning to see through the facade of the ego, and turning towards another possibility.

Fall into your true nature, notice it, become aware and fall into the pervading presence of this moment.

I hope you enjoy this short (8:26) reading and... 'be ready to be surprised'

"In the end, ordinary life with be the only indespensible teacher, the one who's lessons you cannot bypass"
