This List Of The World's Best Car Nominees 2017

Nominations for the World Car of the Year 2017 award, or the world's best car of the year, have been announced, which again dominated European-made cars.

There are six Car of the Year awards to be contested this year, including top car prizes as well as medals for each of the best luxury car category, performance, design, eco-friendly and the best urban cars.

Urban Car of the Year is a new award this year, which is contested by cars less than four meters.

The 10 nominees for Car of the Year include six European cars: Audi A5 / S5, Q2, Q5, Jaguar F-Pace, Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tiguan, a Japanese-Italian collaboration car (Fiat 124 Spider), and three Japanese cars Honda Civic, Mazda CX-9, and Toyota C-HR).

For the best luxury car category, the finalists are Bentley Bentleyga, BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Volvo S90 / V90), and Genesis G90.

The award of best performing car is contested by Aston Martin DB11, Audi R8 Spyder, McLaren 570S, Porsche 718 Boxster / Cayman and Honda NSX.

As for the best urban car, the nominations are BMW i3, Citroen C3, Smart ForTwo Cabriolet, Suzuki Ignis and Ford Ka +.

Ford Ka + developed for emerging markets such as South Africa, Brazil and India which went on sale in 2015 under the name Ka or Figo.

Another category, environmentally friendly cars, is filled by Chevrolet Bolt, Tesla Model X, Honda Clarity, Toyota Prius Prime and Hyundai Ioniq, which means none of the European automotive manufacturers.

The winner of each category will be announced at the New York auto show which takes place in mid-April.
