Retro living

in #auction8 years ago

One of people's favourite reasons for collecting is for the purposes of home decor. Fortunately for us all, we have centuries of styles to choose from! Though to be fair the cost of the really old quality stuff is prohibitive for the ordinary person. I am privileged that I get to work with gorgeous items all day long as my day (and sometimes night!) job. Below are some of my recent listings. If you need the link to any of them, request it in the comments.

This beautiful hand coloured baby photo is framed in a vintage frame behind curved glass.

Assorted ceramics, including retro and oriental styles. The oriental plate above is a bit of a mystery, as it has an interesting back stamp which I can't identify. Straight after I listed it I had 2 "user's watching", so maybe I will be in luck!

A vintage glass inkwell that is beyond stunning!

Another piece of beautiful glass is this heavy cut glass decanter.

I love this beautiful old copper and brass bucket.

Retro alarm clocks are popular sellers. Westclox is one of the most popular vintage collectible clocks brands.

Here is a piece I found a bit odd, and truthfully slightly off putting. The collage is made entirely from butterfly wings. On the back is information about the collage, and we are assured that these butterfly wings are from butterflies that have completed their life cycles and harvested naturally. (Ugh)

We take a trip back to the kitchen to view these vintage jelly molds. I have never seen one with a lid before!

This glass ice bucket decorated with cocktail recipes will grace any bar.

Above is a vintage invalid's cup. It was used to feed bed ridden patients and is a rather plain example of one.

Finally you can light your way to bed with this delicate porcelain oil lamp.
