A Rhino in disguise
I have developed the skin of a rhino...
So this has been fundamentally for me, one of the hardest lessons so far. I'm a self-confessed 'soft sap' with no urge to cause online drama. For a while, I innocently believed that the online trolls never existed.
But of course, they do...
I have not experienced much grief online, just the odd comment from the drama lama's...you've spelt that wrong, you need to do this, that's rubbish....blah blah blah.
To be fair it's not too bad, seeing as I have posted over 1,000 blog posts this year.
One thing that I have learned from watching online wars and dramas is that it stays online...yes I know... that old chestnut. It does. One bitter feud can be brought up from the middle ages-well maybe not that far back- and come back to bite you in the derriere.
My point is this. Not everyone is going to like my work and not everyone is going to play nice BUT; Not everyone is going to dislike my work and not everyone is going to play dirty.
So growing the Rhino Skin has worked over the last year of blogging, as I have held back from online wars and resisted the urge to participate. Resisting the urge to bite back when someone is being unkind, or being a pretentious know it all, is actually working for me.
Smiling and waving!
This 'soft sap' is a rhino in disguise....

30 Days Of Book Launch- Day 2- (My Style)
It is so hard to grow rhino skin, but it seems to be a necessity in this day and age. Someone once told me that the trolls are only those who have no talent and chose to show hatred and jealousy over finding their own way...
Yes...sadly I think they are right!
