Abandoned Shit Weekly Contest - №.23 - 'Rust.' #aswcontest - The Abandon Flow Gate.
I was walking through Lumpini park in Bangkok , Thailand the other day looking for something rusty for this contest or anything unusual or odd i have a habit of taking pictures of whatever might be useful for me in any future project or contest. So on my hunt through this park i spotted this old rusty mechanism on a concrete block.
I honestly was trying to make out what this rusted piece of contraption was i was told by some locals that this was like a flood gate that use to be open manually by placing a steel wheel over the threaded shaft and this would direct the waters into the lake in case of heavy flooding on the streets during monsoon periods in Thailand but has been left here as a memory ornament now , well what's left of it.
It is amazing how heavy steel like that can be simply eaten away by mother nature doing it's thing certainly hasn't wasted it's time on this contraption even the bolt heads are been eaten away.
