Horoscope: Uranus-Mars in Aries

Astrologically, it's an interesting weekend. Uranus, Mars, and the Moon are connecting in the last degrees of Aries. This is the ultimate configuration, prior to the planets' shift into Taurus. Aries is symbolic of pure energy, and individualized action. It's a cardinal, fire sign. It is the sign of the warrior, and ruled by Mars, the god of war. Planets in Aries will be impassioned, with a sense of the unrestrained.

Since 2011, Uranus has been in the sign of Aries. We have been fueled by a well of anger, and a mission to take action. Injustice can taken many forms, and will be shaped by the position of Aries in our birth chart. Erratic is used to describe Uranus, perhaps as a result of the planet's axial tilt (it spins on its side). Uranus will enter Taurus in early March, and will stay there until 2026.

Mars, in his native Aries, is barreling toward Uranus. The result is a shock, and the focus of the planetary sky. However, the Moon will impose between the two planets, days before the metaphorical collision. In its 28-day cycle, as the Moon travels in each sign, it triggers that area of our chart. The Moon is symbolic of our basic life and its relationship to the material realm.

In this instance, the Moon is shining a light on the frustration, to remind us that this is our life. We have been gifted the tools, by which to transform the world. Impassioned, the Mars-Uranus conjunction is on the edge of war. However, as we strip away the barriers and excuses, we can discover the natural responsibility to take charge. With Uranus in Taurus, it will be clear that the resources by which to do this are readily available.

I don't necessarily see a tension in this weekend's transits. Instead, I imagine an excess of energy. We can envision the different ways to act. However, a deeper sensitivity requires an understanding of where our energy is needed. It's all too easy to burn out, and there is nothing that you owe. Keep that in mind, and the path forward should be clear.

The Moon will conjunct Mars at 2:40pm CST, on Febuary 10th. On the same day, the Moon will conjunct Uranus at 5:45pm CST. Finally, the Moon will enter Taurus at 7:30pm CST.
