Generalize (VERB) : To make a general or broad statement by inferring from specific cases.
Astro-generalize: To make a general or broad statement by inferring from 'traits' & behaviors normally associated with an astrological sign.
This stemmed from a conversation with a coworker as we had our 'water cooler' moment at the end of the day, somehow, we got into astrology and the resident post-meta-physicist now Atheist, described the interesting behaviors of someone we had all encountered earlier by astrological sign. Then made the statement that he didn't want to 'astro-generalize'. The thing was; he was right, though he hadn't know the persons birthday, he'd guessed(?) the persons sign correctly. So currently, he is our new hero.
Sometimes it is off putting when people guess my sign, but I like to take it in stride and smile even bigger at them.
