What crypto currencies are you currently using and why?

I just started using Bitcoin fairly recently and really like it. BTC is super easy to buy and lots of places accept it for payment now  I have heard a lot about DASH and Ether and might check those out next!

Leave a comment and let me know which crypto you are using right now and why!

  • Holding bitcoin mined at $1/btc
  • Using dash as primary currency (via shapeshift for those who want btc)
  • Holding 1000 dash as a node (for income)
  • Currently holding Monero and MaidSafe with 20-25% increas over last 4 weeks.

I am using dash because I am tired of the long wait times, when sending bitcoin - it is only fast when paying large fees. I only make 10+ coin trades with bitcoin, otherwise it's too expensive.

Thanks for the comment! I am jealous wish i had mined at $1 lol! I just got in recently. I might have to try using DASH! Do you think btc transaction speeds will get faster?

Bitcoin transactions are slow because the difficulty is so high and only so many transaction can be jammed it one block. Most wallet programs are set up to use a certain fee which is way too low to be appealing to the miners (not the people - the algorithm) - Newer wallet programs allow you to set your fee amount. When I transfer from my bitcoin wallet, my transactions are lightning fast. Yours can be too if you pay a $20.00 fee - that is why I said,

it is only fast when paying large fees. I only make 10+ coin trades with bitcoin, otherwise it's too expensive.

Bitcoin was designed to be this way. Block rewards have gone from 50, to 25, to 12.5btc per block found. In time, there will be no block reward and it will become too expensive to use for a coffee or a pizza. I hope that answered your question.

You are a crypto guru...teach me your ways lol. I don't even own a full btc lol. That did answer my question thanks! Do you use ethereum at all?

Yes. I mined a few blocks when it launched. But mining it's like crack for me... haha.

I was makin a post on how to use dash to pay ppl that want bitcoin. I didn't get to it. It seems that the level of participation in general here on steemit is falling off a bit as people see the price go down.

I have powered up a couple of times in the last week and I plan to power up once this week. Keep you chin up and don't forget to back up your private keys for Dash.

Haha, yeah, it seems to me once you go down the crypto rabbit hole there is no going back haha. Btw I have been reading a lot about dash today bc of your advice, I setup a wallet but I am not sure if it works yet, no dash to test it with yet lol. What is the best way to get Dash?

I checked out this link but there are a lot of options.

Also, Just started following you!

sponge bob could you explain"Holding 1000 dash as a node (for income)" I dont fully understand?

Dash is 45% for miners, 45% for "Master Nodes" and 10% for marketing and staff.

Thanks!Interesting concept I will definitely have to do some more research on Dash!
