What is the best way to earn curation?
I upvote posts on the new page every now and then but it earns anything, am i missing a secret technique here, or is curation a total grind, or is my sp too low? what's deal?

Percentage wise, your SP doesn't matter. You'll max your curation out by voting for the posts that end up with the most rewards, as close to 30 minutes as game theory makes possible (people try to leapfrog ahead to get more).
Practically, with no SP, curation rewards are trivial. You'd be better off looking for pennies in the street than trying to optimize it. Better to write quality comments or content of your own, if you want to earn rewards.
