ASK KRIS #7: BLOCKED URINARY PASSAGE

I am a boy of 23years and suffered from gonorrhea. A few weeks following that, I found that my urinary passage was blocked and could not empty my bladder.  I have had some treatment, but would like to know more about it from you.

Paul, it seems that you have formed what is known as Urethral Stricture from  gonorrhea. This is a narrowing of the tube which conducts urine from the bladder to the outside. This needs regular dilatations by a surgeon under general anaesthesia. It has got to be done pretty regularly, if the passage is not to be allowed to be blocked again.
