In a state of generalised insecurity as is the case with Nigeria today, there is bound to be concern with articulating divergent perspectives. This is what a student platform at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria - the African Society of International Studies, (ASIS) - is up later today when various resource persons engage "Regional Perspectives of Security Challenges in Nigeria"
The conversation taking place in the Department of Political Science and International Studies on the main campus in Samaru, Zaria has Dr. Nurudeen Muhammad, former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs as the Guest Lecturer with Alhaji Basiru Muhammad Sanusi, the traditional Minister of Defence of Dutse Emirate in Jigawa State of Nigeria as the Royal Father of the Day. Alhaji Muhammad Wakili, the well known Commissioner of Police for Kano State would be the Special Guest of Honour. In other words, the audience will be hearing from a former foreign policy actor, a top security operative and the traditional authority in the region. The students and their lecturers will make up for the academic voice in the conversation.
