Hi Steemian Friends! Here’s my entry for today’s “Day 15 - Ashart Contest -Theme - The Hole That Can Be Filled By Only God!” Great Theme Ashley, and thank you very much for thinking of it! As we go through our everyday lives, we know there will be challenges that will arise, sometimes very difficult ones. And we can become easily overwhelmed with feelings of desperation that may weigh us down like we are attached to a enormous ball and chain we can’t escape from. Horrible feelings of anger, frustration, confusion, worry, sorrow, emptiness, anxiety, stress, feelings of being unloved and lost, may slowly creep into our subconscious minds . If these feelings become impossible to overcome, very often deep depression may set in. If this happens, some people might try to medicate themselves to overcome such thoughts, just to get relief, trying to lose themselves, numb their minds, just to feel better about their current existence. Some turn to alcohol, drugs, or complete seclusion. This form of self help, is like applying a temporary bandaid to a wound that continues to fester. But the bandaid never does heal that sore, and the bad medicine, doesn’t take care of the root of the problem, which is the death of the soul, and the soul is God’s department, he created it. Without God’s help my friends, you cannot heal your own dying soul, it’s impossible. God has to do it. He wants you to get closer to Him, to trust Him, to love Him, to ask Him for help, because He is your Father and He loves you. And knows what’s best for you. He wants a relationship with you, He wants to communicate to your mind and heart, He wants you to read, or listen to the Bible.
You can consult with a psychiatrist, a therapist to try to help you overcome your afflictions, and you might feel better, yes, and that doctor might put you on medication, which might help you cope with your problems, and that may give you some relief, but the only way to receive true healing, true happiness, and true perfect peace, is through knowing, and understanding, and loving our Lord Jesus Christ. God is calling each and every one of us, and sometimes severe pain may be the only reason to drop to your knees when you are at the end of your rope, to finally ask for God’s help, out of complete desperation. More people have come to know Christ and love Him deeply in this fashion, I know several. It’s wonderful to witness a person who thanks God for allowing themselves long suffering , so that they finally reached out to Him, and He showed them His mercy and grace.
