Can We Do Better in Crypto? Asian/Australian Economics.

in #asean6 years ago

In 2017 The Australian Government made it clear that our national goals are to further strengthen ties with our Asian neighbours.

This was made very clear when Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) wa adressed:

Expanding our trade and investment will help secure our future prosperity. We have prepared a range of publications to help Australian business identify trade and investment opportunities with ASEAN.

The Australian Government's latest report, released in November 2017, for Australians interested in doing business in ASEAN is called 'ASEAN Now'. Watch Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, the Hon Steven Ciobo MP, introduce the report.

Which is best understood if we look at what The Australian Government says on the topic of:

Why ASEAN matters: key facts

However, to sum it all up the following citation should make the general gist of things very clear, without all the political show and tell!

Australia and ASEAN

Australia's bilateral engagement with the countries of Southeast Asia is strengthened by our engagement with ASEAN, the region's premier representative grouping. Australia became the first of ASEAN's ten dialogue partners in 1974. We entered into a Strategic Partnership in 2014 and agreed to commence biennial leaders’ summits in 2015, with the first of these held in Vientiane in November 2016. Learn some key facts about ASEAN in Why ASEAN matters: key facts.

In March 2018, Prime Minister Turnbull welcomed ASEAN Leaders to Sydney for the ASEAN-Australia Special Summit. Learn more about Australia's engagement with ASEAN in Why ASEAN matters: our mutual cooperation.

Australia's economic and security interests remain inextricably linked with the countries of Southeast Asia......

However, there are challenges that Australia and likewise our partners in our neighbouring continent face when it comes to ensuring good relations.

Among which are the changes in economics within the two continents.

An excellent article on the topic was written on eastasiaforum.org this year, named:

Four challenges for Australia–ASEAN relations

I highly recommend that you take a read of it.

WHY?

Well, I often ask myself, can we do better than our "politicians"?

& if so, WHEN?

Can STEEM be a catalyst in helping our relations improve?

In general, can we see crypto being a force that binds us together for the overall prosperity of our continents/peoples?

I have posted this here, as it is definitely something that can help get people thinking more globally when it comes to our potentials in our region of this world, without in any way lessening the rules of life which often prove that we need to "think globally and act locally", but in order to do so, we do need to stay informed and have a clear picture as to what is going on "globally". Especially in this part of the world where we live.
