BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER

...is a phrase that we can find all over in literature from 1588 until today. It only means that the perception of beauty is subjective, in art as in anything else.
Being the result of personal experiences beauty is different to different kind of people. Judgements that cannot be discussed because they are not from the world of measurement and calculation.
So if somebody says "I like your art", all I can do is return the compliment because it needs at least 2 people to bring something alive.
