Kryptos
Kryptos is a sculpture installed outside the CIA offices in Langley, Virginia since 1990. It was commissioned by the CIA to the sculptor Jim Sanborn.

The work consists in s piece of bronze of 4 m high, Forged in the form of S. It contains 865 characters in which four encrypted messages are hidden. These are written in English and contain intentional grammatical errors and are a riddle.
CIA asked the sculpture to James Sanborn under the premise of an outdoor work of art that not be seen to general public. The piece was placed in a building behind the headquarters. Sanborn named his work as Kryptos by the Greek word which means "hidden", and did not reveal the meaning of the code.
