Hello Steemians!

I'm Mina and this is the first volume so you can improve and be an excellent illustrator, accelerating your learning.

Before running, we must first learn to walk, but this can be a bit chaotic
So our first volume will give you some tips to start in this world.

The best recommendation that I can give you when you are starting or do not manage the proportion or anatomy well is:

Do not invest most of your time in a single illustration.

When you are starting the best thing is to do several things in a short period of time, objects, hands, poses, eyes, etc. This way you get used to it and learn how to control the stroke to draw correctly.

It is also good to always carry a notebook or a blog with white sheets to draw while you wait or do nothing.

The more time you invest practicing, the faster you will improve.

When you do sketches people can make some common mistakes and you can avoid them by following these tips.

  • Do not use straight lines with organic materials or objects.

Organics: any natural material, animals, humans, plants, etc.

This is a common mistake we make at the beginning of our practices, but it is easy to correct. As simple as having this rule always in your mind.

  • Use skeletons and plans to draw things both organic and mechanical.

There are many ways to guide yourself when making skeletons. Some use circles and other cubes. It's just a matter of you feeling comfortable.

  • Do not make rigid poses, remember that we are not robots.

Many times we believe that both sides of the body should resemble each other, but the reality is that we are never totally rigid, this also applies for animals.

  • Do not be addicted to the eraser, throw it away if necessary.

It often happens that after so much erasing due to our mistakes, we end up damaging the sheet or staining it; this can be easily corrected by improving the pressure with which we handle the pencils.

Social mideas.png

It may sound strange because many times we find people with our tastes, although it may be like that in Facebook groups, but it's not usually this way.

Many of these communities are plagued by toxic people, who only throw criticism and insults with the intention of humiliating you.
If you want good reviews to help you improve, it's best to meet in person or see tutorials that can help you.

Materials.png
Often people think that these materials are indispensable to improve, Which is not true.

Many people make masterpieces only with a pencil and a pen.

It's not wrong to want to buy these materials, but always remember that you will not improve just because you bought them.
references.png

One of the biggest "sins" for many people since they think that using references is to "cheat" when it comes to illustrating, which is completelly out of reality.
gg.png

Just remember that one thing is to use a reference and another is to trace the work of other people.
That is called plagiarism and you will not improve by doing so.

no borres.png

The most important thing to remember is to have fun, this is just a guide to learn faster. We all start by seeing our work as a hobby, and if you lose that feeling, you will most likely end up abandoning the practice.

This is all for now. See you in the next post!
