The Chainsaw carved wolf
In this post I will share some of the wolves I have carved over the years. It is very enjoyable doing what I do and knowing I can make folks happy with my work. Nobody needs a wood sculpture but I manage to support myself and family with carving them. Been doing it for 10 years and in the beginning, I struggled a bit but learned to adjust, and live simple. It has definitely gotten easier over time, climbing the ladder among the professionals.
I will share from newest to oldest...
The first one I'll share is this wolf pup howling all chainsaw.
Here it is after paint.
Another wolf I've done where he was running, a difficult piece that had to be pieced together.
This one was carved at an event I attended called "Carving at the Casino" a really fun show where you can carve all weekend, gamble if you wish and network with fellow carvers over a beer.
I usually go to this event every year, and was invited again but decided to give myself a break this year from events other than my own.
Carved this one at that same show the year prior.
Here's a small one I carved from cedar a few years ago
Even older are these two wolves that are still some of my favorite sculptures in the wolf category.
Carved them when I was still a rookie carver.
I did manage to get a timelapse video produced for one of my first wolves check it out below:
It even features my little log dog "Jorgie" at the end. An awesome little pup that enjoys sitting near me when I carve or hopping on logs.
And to finish off my post I will share a flat piece that hangs on the wall. It is still available and I will take Steem for it. Perhaps I shall throw it on steembay to see how it goes.
Some wolves running and kicking up snow. About 2ft wide and 10 inches high.
I love what I do and happy to share with you all here on Steemit.
