Weak Posting Means Hard Working
Holy Heck
Sometimes you may ask yourself "How the heck did I get here?" This one hits me about once a week. When I was younger I used to say that by the time I was 35 I would have toured with my music, made at least 5 films, and moved into multi-media projects. Well, that is short list in comparison to what I have actually accomplished. And there is still so much to do!!! @illpoetic and I talk a lot about the wax and wane of creative work. Sometimes you are so busy you can't keep up. Sometimes you are waiting on that next project to not only fix financial problems but lift your spirits. I am currently in a "so busy my eyes are bleeding" period. While last year I took about a year off.
Since I am so busy trying to knock tasks out I haven't been able to keep up with my normal music posts. This week I'll still be releasing the podcasts but until I am caught up music reviews and mix's are on hold, bummer I know. But how about I talk about what I am up to?
Tetralume | A Moment In Light, Sound and Motion

Recently @illpoetic hit me up about this guy who was working on a multi-media project that incorporates LED programing, 3D mapping, modern dance, and ambient electronic music. The team behind it was interested in him and I doing the music. We sort of run into a lot people saying they want to do this. But they never follow through on the work. When Ben sent us the Basecamp invite and we got to see how active and serious they were I realized that this was something to take pretty seriously. Ill Po kept suggesting I take the lead on the music, which seemed insane to me, I'll never produce on his level. But, Ill Po and I have a saying, "You have to know when you are rice thrower at someone else's wedding." Meaning, recognize when you can take a step back and let the better person do the job. After my first conversation with Ben and getting their playlist the team made to show us what sort of tonal vibe they were after it all made sense. However, at this stage where we are past the initial what-does-this-sound-like and into the music theory area of the music. Which is fantastic, this is where Ill Po and I thrive! We both have been deep in music theory study and on different paths. This is helping us both throw fascinating ideas back and forth.
Recently I have also been studying the history of different pockets of EDM. I unwound the past of Speed Garage and some other genres that were inspired by it. So Ill Po and I decided to do a little history lesson with this project. We hope to use some things we love from these areas and actually honor the sound. That is something we don't do often, we tend to warp things we are inspired by into our own sound. So we hope to do something a little different.
Ben has been talking a lot about tetrahedrons and sacred geometry being the visual aesthetic for this project. So I have an interesting plan to not only have a few tempo changes, but time signature changes to represent this aspect along with a little math fun. Which is also rare in EDM and has presented some fun challenges.
Broken Brain Beast Coast Tour
Black Liquid and I have been working on a couple things this year. While we were talking about playing some shows together Sam Rothstein contacted me about his tour. They wanted to play VA and we have been hoping to bring him out here for a grip. So we combined his Galactic Intergang Tour with our Broken Brain Beast Coast Tour and Voltroned up! We'll be playing VA and NYC with Sam's team until we break off and play some of our own dates. Black Liq and I thought we would hit up DøøF and bring him along with us. This week the flyers and official announcements should be happening. If you are near Sam's tour definitely check it out. He is rolling with a whole squad of monsters.
We really hope to utilize Steem to get the word out and maybe even set up some meetups at some of the shows? Who knows maybe @wolfnworbeikood might wind up rocking some shows with us ;). Can't wait to meet you all. There will be a West Coast tour later this year but it will be vastly different from this one.
At this very moment I don't even know what year we started making Poster Grrl. But this week it will finally be accomplished. Today our VFX/DoP/Co-Editor @thelocomotive let us know that the final render is only 1 task away. This is our last week working on it and that feels fucking glorious. I think I may finally get some real sleep. Over the next few weeks we plan on introducing the team behind this project leading to the online premier. We're super excited we discovered Steem before we finished this. It will be a great chance to show you guys what we are capable of and possibly discover the path to funding the next film. And hopefully we will meet some new people to collaborate with.
I'll be digging AtomCollector and Dsound for Steemians who making dope music for my return to my weekly mixes. But until then, remember that everything is chaos and nothing really matters, so make your art and have fun always.
Namaste,
XD

We're getting close my man. What a journey.
The journey is the best part. Especially when you have a lot of good friends along the way.
At one point I just had to stop reading the post. I mean you all got so deep I could not even step into the footprints you have created. I don't know if you realize how deep you are in as it relates to the music and production world for average readers just looking from the outside in and trying to keep up. I am sure you all have been at this for quite some time because you talk as if it is second nature to you. I think your life is amazing and it reads like something out of a motion picture or a reality series of "A Day In The Life Of..." Thank you for allowing me to just live in your world. Please keep us updated on the upcoming events. The tribe supports all that you do @asonintrigue.
Thank you for that. You know, after years and years of working like this you really loose sense of the magnitude of what you are doing because it feels like work most of the time. It is wonderful to know that people out there are on the receiving end actually paying attention. I appreciate that so much it keeps us pushing through the difficulty of our work.
Hello @asonintrigue, thank you for sharing this creative work! If you're interested, take a look at our magazine @creativecrypto. We are all about art on the blockchain, and learning from creatives like you. Swing by and say hello!
