Dear friends, I leave for the goodness of your readings the English version of one of my poems. In its Spanish version, this poem the rhyme was arranged so that it embraced, alternating the consonant and asonant rhymes (with a preponderance of the latter). There is no pre-established metric regularity nor is any particular strofic form followed. At that time I tried to anchor the poem in rhythm with the help of these elements of rhymed poetry.
I kept the illustration I made for the Spanish version of this text. I hope that both the text and the drawing can tell you something (hopefully not so bitter).
I am grateful.
Nightmares
Time and dust are woven.
The echo of the voices we have forgotten.
From the shreds of a closed scream
and fugitive smoke from burning.
Also from the shadow that escapes at night
and they come from the edge of the razor-sharp.
From what was taken from our marrow
and the notch of the condemned bone.
They are from the cold left by the snow
under the wandering and mute plant.
From the last flight of a hummingbird.
They belong to the whistling wind of flight,
to the broken thread that tied us to life,
to the shred that hangs from the tear
and the scab removed from the wound.
They are of renewed fears,
made out of one blow rather than forgetfulness.
Also of the bearded spirit
that stalks the crowned twilight of shadows.
They belong to the ditch of the lost glare
of the will of light,
and of the deep silence
returns his steps to the sore chest
for the miseries it gathers from the world.
