pitapat creation #14_part 1

Hey Steemit community :)

Today I'd like to give you some tips plus show you the process and effort that goes into making fashion illustrations and designs.

This is my way of getting things done so feel free to tell me your tips and suggestions :)

First is always sketching the body pre-hand. You don't need to do this if your drawing one illustration but if your required to draw many for instance 10~20 sketches I think it's best to draw 4~8 body stencils. In that way you don't need to worry about what poses your gonna draw and even body proportions.

Then you draw a brief sketch with the garment on. No face no hair just the details of the clothing.

Before I start to do anything with colors, I use my marker to paint a very mini version. This is to see the balance of my color palette. Mini versions are cute, takes a few minutes and does the job :)

Then I photocopy the sketch use the same color palatte or change a few colors. I think it is best to use 2~3 main colors at most and 1~2 accent colors. For instance in the design below I used 2~3 tones of blue as my core color and brown and silver for my accent color.

When I'm done this is the result of my scrap paper. I think you always need scraps of paper to practice and figure out your colors. Unless of corse if your perfect with colors then this is no mess for you ;)
