Ukulele appreciation and entry for Artstorm Contest 13: Musical Instrument.
This is a 15 minute create contest.
I like this challenge.
It nicely complements the 5 minute freewrite.
If you just have a small amount of time to add a little bit of creativity to your day, check out @deemarshall's 15 minute daily art prompt.
If writing is more your thing @mariannewest's daily 5 minute freewrite prompt.
This is my entry for Art Storm Musical instrument.
I drew a ukulele.
I used pencils 2b 4b, and looked at our little guy's cheap soprano ukulele as a reference.
We have the odd instrument or 2 in our home.
My husband is guitarist and bass player and keen uker as well.
The Ukulele is a very cool instrument.
Everyone can play it. If you can play a little bit of guitar, you can already play the Uke.
Even if you have no experience playing an instrument, you can learn to play basic Uke in one day.
It is easy and so much fun.
George Harrison was a big Uke advocate.
He was known to frequently give them to his friends and family.
Apparently he would buy them in batches and keep them in the trunk of his car.
George Harrison, Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney.
Tom Petty recollects the time George gave him a Uke or two.
They spent the day jamming then when he was leaving, he popped open his trunk and gave him another 4. When Petty stated he already had one Harrison replied
"Well, you never know when we might need them, because not everybody carries one around."
The Ukulele is small, cheap and easy to learn. You can take it anywhere, and to quote George Harrison -
“...you can’t play it and not laugh!”
You can easily achieve basic chords and a fun strum along in one day.
With practice and talent there is no limit to what you can do on this humble little instrument.
Check out Claudie Mackula.
What she can do on this little Soprano ukulele is amazing.
Thanks @deemarshall for inspiring creativity everyday on steemit.
