Entry for Artstorm Contest #12 - champagne

Hello Steemies, here is another submission to the artstorm contest hosted by Dee Marshall. See this link for the contest details should you want to join. The week is about to end and I am hopeful that I can participate in all the artstorm themes for this week.

Today, we have champagne as the theme. I can go literal or straight forward about my idea but would try to focus on the beautiful color and body of this lovely drink. On my illustration, I used two champagne flutes to give you an idea what kind of drink it is. See how rough and raw the lines were? That is the look I was going for in creating this entry. I then emphasized on the effervescent quality of this drink by putting bubbles on the background. That effect was achieved by making the paint brush a little bit more transparent so the bubbles could look light and fizzy enough. Since I want to highlight the drink, I thought a good contrast in colors is necessary so I put a dark brownish shade on the background. I think it worked well in showcasing that beautiful color of the drink. The liquid inside the champagne flutes was given a more prominence by doing a couple bit more brush strokes. Just be careful not to overdo it as it loses the transparency if you keep adding layers to it.

There it is the simple idea and process for this art. Nothing complicated just like how I want it when I celebrate with this bubbly drink. Crisp, clean and fun. Hope you like it. Until next time.
