Title of this art: Other Dimension

This illustration is showing a female figure being lifted up in space and at the same time she is spinning as she extends her arm into a vortex. That is how I want to present my idea on the given theme. I had watched several episodes of the X files when I was young and the stories that I could remember are mostly about aliens and other dimensions.

It was fun actually working on this task. I thought I would have a hard time meeting the deadline because I know sci-fi is never easy to draw in such a limited time but I just went for it and was surprised with the outcome. Generally I know I would be using a dark sky to highlight the mothership of the aliens and the vortex as well as the beams of light and stars. Having drawn that I knew I had accomplished half of the task. Now, drawing the main character would be my main challenge. I decided to do a silhouette of a female figure to get away with less details. If you got the right angles of that moving female figure you are pretty much certain you are good to go even if you did not show more details. For the final touch. I think the grey skies despite the lights and starts is still boring and flat. I thought a loud color like neon pink or green would tie it all together. I went for the greenish yellow and that is just an after thought. BUT, it worked. That color saved me. You never know what will happen until you try and just go for it. You do not have to over think it and just be surprised with the outcome. Enjoy the process and be in for a surprise. That is the most important lesson I learned from this art experience.
