의도한 분이 이순신 장군이라면 GENERAL YI가 아니라 ADMIRAL LEE가 어떨까요?
아이쿠.. 착각했네요.
Admiral로 수정했습니다.
그런데 이유는 모르겠지만
이순신 장군은 Lee가 아닌 Yi로 표기하는 경우가 대부분이더군요.
조금 더 젊을 적에 영어 교과서에서 Admiral Lee로 표기되었던 것을 기억해요.
내가 맞다고 고집하는 것은 아니에요.
다만, 이순신의 '이'가 '오얏 리'의 리에 두음법칙이 적용된 것인데 영어로 표기하고 발음할 적에는 그 근원을 밝혀 '리' 즉 'Lee'로 표기하고 발음한 것으로 추측해요.
저도 덕분에 찾아봤는데 참고하시면 좋을 듯 합니다.
