[CR] My friend's portrait

When you draw a flower or an onion, no one will wonder if this flower or onion looks the same as the one that was in front of you when you were painting. However, this definitely does not apply to portrait painting.

When you learn to draw a portrait, you need to remember that a good portrait should resemble the original (at least a little)! Ideally, the personality and character of the model should also be taken into account. And the coolest artists can draw even a mood.

To hone your portrait techniques, start by doing everything step by step. It is useful to break the face into pieces, learn to see each, as a set of abstract shapes with different shapes and colors. See how the edges of these shapes change depending on light and shadow, and how they help create the illusion of shape and depth on a two-dimensional surface.

I used to draw this man in another technique.
