I hate to have to resort to phone farming to make money. But I have to since stupid people want me to work for free, and other stupid people don't know good art when they see it.

You need to further expand your sphere of influence then sadly. Not uncommon for most people. Sorry about the issues, every artist is expected to work for free, even developers, just to "build your portfolio" which sorry, but I can't pay my rent with my portfolio but I can with cash. I hate people sometimes.
