Playing with Microsoft Cognitive ServicessteemCreated with Sketch.

When Microsoft first released Custom Vision Service, I've put together this sample app, which took me few hours.

Seems like Microsoft continues investing in the Cognitive Services, which is great news for all of us.

Check out their blog for some recent updates: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/microsoft-cognitive-services-updates-bing-entity-search-api-and-project-prague/

Just realized I should have commented here. Great job hooking up the video recording there! What else will you do with this app? Are you considering a mobile version? I wonder if there are apps out there like this already?

Very interesting, I would like to hear more about this project or others like it!

That was just a fun "playground" project, I wasn't planning to do anything with that. But I can share the code or collaborate in my off time.
The problem is that the Custom Vision API is in preview and provides a limited number of requests , so you can't really publish the app, as it would run out of requests fairly quickly. It also limits number of pictures you can train against, making it very limited in terms of number of bills you can recognize.

If there is enough interest I might write a more detail post on how went about building this app.

No you are right, good point. I forgot these are all in preview. My bot was limited in similar ways. Yea, I would be interested in learning more. You might consider starting out slow, kinds short and sweet major points at first, rather than major details. What platform? .Net core? Python? What OS? Are you just making REST calls to get this all done then? How did you train the bot to recognize the money?

I can wait for another post for you to answer all that, just giving you some ideas of things I would be interested in reading for sure!

We need to start some sort of machinelearning tag or something like this. I see you tagging with artificialintelligence which is pretty good.

You should consider posting in programming too for sure. There are several folks watching that tag who I know would like this sort of thing too!

Thank you for some great ideas. I did add machinelearning and programming to tags.
This is implemented as a Universal Windows App, so theoretically it is easy to make it mobile for Windows Mobile. Also possible to use Xamarin for other platforms, but I don't have any experience with Xamarin.

I will try to answer the rest of your questions and provide some more info, when I get time to write that post.

For now you can enjoy my new series of posts called "My Crazy Ideas" ;)

Cheers!
