The applications of Artificial intelligence in military

Artificial intelligence is the ability of a computer in performing actions considered intelligent. On one hand, the Artificial Intelligence is a science that seeks to study and understand the intelligence phenomenon, and on the other engineering branch, in that it seeks to build tools to support human intelligence. AI is intelligence as computing, try to simulate the thinking of experts and our cognitive phenomena. However, AI remains demanded for how human beings think in order to modernize the thought of computational processes, thus trying to build body algorithmic explanations of human thought processes.

Thought process is something that distinguishes AI from other fields of knowledge; it puts the emphasis on the development of theories and models of intelligence as computer programs. In short, the artificial intelligence is knowledge - theory, data, evaluation that describes the means to achieve a class of desired ends. In other words you can still define artificial intelligence as a research area ofcomputer science devoted to seek methods or computing devices that have or simulate the human ability to solve problems, think or, broadly, be smart.

There are some important military applications of IA that are popular and widely used:

Automated planning and scheduling: Thousands of kilometers from a country, the remote agent program can trace the activities and happenings or any upcoming events. Through the automated planning program military boards can control the scheduling of aircraft operations. The remote agent can generate plans from high-level goals specified from the ground and can monitor the operations of the aircrafts as the plans need to be executed - making the detection, diagnosis and recovery of problems occur.

Autonomous control: The computer vision system is trained to drive military vehicles, keeping them on track. It can be placed in the most heaviest as well as the normal army vehicle. The system can be connected to any computer from CMU network and can be used to go at the desired destinations. The system has the range of over almost 4,600 km and can keep control of the direction of the vehicle for 98% of the time. A human being taken over in the other 2% times is just because of the sloppy areas. The system has cameras and video recorders that transmit road images to the monitoring panel, which then calculates the best way to guide, based on experience gained in previous training sessions or operations.
