How to write great content?( Make steam great)
Writing a well written article is hard. For some it is easy, but for me it is hard. Not everyone is a talented writer. If you have less talent you can improve big time with some simple guidelines.
The trick is not to start writing. What you mean? I mean... first think about what you want to say. Are you an expert? Do you at least know what you want to write? Do some research before you gonna make wild claims in an article!
When you know it all, you start with building subtitles, so what you want to say is, in the correct order to make everything understandable.
How I build up this article.
You make a list of subtitles so you don't get off-topic and get a good storyline. Don't worry, you can always change them later.
My subtitles:
- Intro
- How I build up this article
- Add pictures/video
- Start writing
- Grammar, spelling.
- Layout is freaking important.
- Walk away
- Read it
Add pictures/video
Actual content in pictures and video are nowadays essential to grab the attention. Good writing only results in keep there attention after it's grabbed. Great writing makes them return. You upload ofcourse your video on https://d.tube/ @Dtube and pictures directly on steemit without external hosting.
Start writing
When you know what to write, and you got the visual content ready you can start writing your article. There is no optimal size or wordcount for articles. Just try to write and say all the essential things you want to say. Sometimes that's 500 words, sometimes that's 10.000 words.
Grammar, spelling
Grammar and spelling are obviously needed. I'm not a native myself and make definitely mistakes. Luckily this part is not that essential. As long as you write understandably it's all good.
Layout is freaking important
The layout is like the visual content very important. If you don't spend the time on a proper layout than why would a reader spent time on reading it. People can see the article is messy if the layout is wrong.
Walk away
Walk away. Go do something else, forgot about what you've written. This is because when you do something else your brain continues. You come up with things you didn’t say and it's an essential step for the next step. Reading it.
Read it
Read what you've written. Do you understand yourself and did you find many spelling errors during reading it? If yes repeat this step.
