Dylan Thomas: Selected Poems

Dylan (Marlias) Thomas was not an English man. He Welshman, though he took to English and his poetry forms a was a part of the Engish poetic tradition. Born and bred in a Welsh provincial town-Swansea-situated close to seashore, he inherited Welsh poetic tradition, Welsh myths and legends, and these colour his poetry despite his oft proclaimed contempt for everything Welsh.

The Welsh character consists in a feeling of awe, a sense of wonder, pristine innocence, etc. Anglo-welsh writers including Dylan Thomas were influenced by William Blake.
